Special Election

U.S. senators serve staggered six-year terms, and whoever is elected will work alongside Republican Sen. Ted Cruz. The winner of the election will replace Sen. John Cornyn in January, and there is no incumbent in this race.

As Texas’ top elected official, the governor signs and vetoes legislation, serves as commander-in-chief of the state military and appoints members of state agencies or advisory boards.

The lieutenant governor leads the Texas Senate and can exercise the powers of the governor if the governor dies, resigns, is removed from office or is absent from the state, according to the Texas State Historical Association.

The attorney general serves as Texas’ top lawyer and law enforcement officer. There is no incumbent in this race.

The comptroller is Texas’ chief financial officer, overseeing government spending and administering the state’s education savings account program.

The Texas General Land Office manages 13 million acres of state lands, with duties including allocating disaster recovery funds, leasing state lands to generate revenue for the state's Permanent School Fund, preserving state landmarks such as The Alamo and overseeing several veterans programs.

The commissioner leads the Texas Department of Agriculture, which regulates agriculture, administers nutrition programs and provides rural economic development assistance. There is no incumbent in this race.

The Texas Railroad Commission regulates Texas’ oil and gas industry. The agency has three commissioners who are elected to staggered six-year terms. There is no incumbent in this race.

Keller ISD is one of the few districts in Northeast Tarrant County still using grass competition fields at the middle school level, along with grass high school baseball and softball fields. Three of the district's middle school fields cannot be used for competitions during the 2026-27 school year. Proposition E covers installation of artificial turf at all Keller ISD middle schools as well as high school baseball and softball fields.

The Keller ISD Athletic Complex serves as the competition venue for all Keller ISD high schools. Proposition D covers site repairs, including lighting, track, and turf replacement, along with restroom renovations. It also covers renovations to the adjacent Keller High School Field House and addresses mechanical, electrical, and plumbing at these facilities.

Keller ISD spends $6 million from its operating budget each year to refresh student and staff devices. Prop B funds those devices.

Keller ISD currently spends millions of dollars from its operating budget to address aging building systems. Proposition A covers roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, code compliance, and safety systems at 34 campuses and facilities. It also includes a partial rebuild of Keller Middle School, preserving the portions of the campus that were newly constructed under the 2019 bond.

The Keller ISD Natatorium is currently closed for student and community use. Proposition C covers repairs to water filtration systems, dehumidifiers, and HVAC operations, all of which would allow the facility to resume operations.
