Q&A: Meet the candidates running for Texas House District 93

Why are you running for this position?

As a former Fort Worth City Councilman, I've represented most of House District 93. I'm running because our state needs common sense leaders focused on practical, everyday problems. I will bring my business background and local government track record to Austin to fight for affordable, safe and prosperous communities.

What projects are most important for the legislature to focus on for the future of Texas?

The legislature must focus on lowering the cost of living by providing permanent property tax relief and holding insurance companies accountable for soaring premiums. We must also prioritize core infrastructure, such as expanding state-managed roads like I-35 and I-287 and investing in classroom-focused school quality.

How do you plan to involve residents in the decision-making process?

I will remain deeply connected to our neighborhoods through regular town halls, active social media engagement and constituent newsletters. By listening to residents, respecting taxpayers and maintaining an open-door policy, I will ensure Tarrant County families have a direct voice in the decisions made in Austin.

What do you see as the greatest challenge for Texas in the next five years?

Texas's greatest challenge is maintaining its historic affordability. Rapid growth and inflation are straining family budgets, infrastructure and public safety. We must protect middle-class families from rising costs, address school funding, curb insurance increases and ensure our police have the resources to keep neighborhoods safe.

Why are you running for this position?

I’m running because HD93 families deserve a representative who will listen, show up and work for them in Austin. With more than 20 years in business operations and leadership, I know how to bring people together and solve problems. I will prioritize education, healthcare, mental health and affordability.

What projects are most important for the legislature to focus on for the future of Texas?

Texas must properly fund public schools and expand access to healthcare and mental health care. We must also address affordability and ensure large developments, including data centers, are planned transparently, with safeguards for water, electricity, noise and nearby neighborhoods. Economic growth should benefit communities without shifting costs onto residents.

How do you plan to involve residents in the decision-making process?

If elected, I will hold regular town halls, attend neighborhood meetings and create several ways for residents to contact my office. I want to hear directly from educators, parents, seniors, young people, mental health advocates and business owners before making decisions that could affect their families and communities.

What do you see as the greatest challenge for Texas in the next five years?

Our greatest challenge will be managing rapid growth without leaving families behind. Texas must remain affordable while ensuring our schools, healthcare systems, mental health systems, water supply, power grid and roads can meet growing demand. We need thoughtful planning now to keep our communities strong for the next generation.
