Why are you running for office?

TAD has one constitutional mandate: equal and uniform appraisals. At the Aug. 12, 2026, board meeting, residential appraisal ratios showed homes under $200,000 appraised at 106% versus 71% for homes over $1 million. That is not equal. On Aug. 17, I filed to run with a 500+ signature petition.

What are the biggest challenges facing the Tarrant Appraisal District?

TAD's freeze locked 2024 values in place while the market kept shifting; a local realtor found 190,000+ homes potentially over-appraised as such. Meanwhile, Fort Worth, Keller, Colleyville, Bedford, Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD, TCC, TRWD and others were forced to raise tax rates to cover the shortfall TAD created, squeezing taxpayers.

How do you plan to address these issues?

Go back to annual appraisals. As taxing entities increase tax rates, those higher rates can be difficult to bring down. Annual appraisals keep property values current, ensure taxpayers are treated equally and uniformly and prevent homeowners and businesses from being stuck with outdated values that no longer reflect the market.

What would your top priorities be if you are elected?

My priorities are annual appraisals, equal and uniform treatment, transparency and taxpayer access. TAD should simplify exemptions and protests, offer bilingual support and use strong technology to make appraisals more accurate, efficient and accessible for every taxpayer. I'll also publish how our appraisals compare to actual sale prices.

What is your approach to reviewing the county's reappraisal plan?

I would vote to bring back the annual appraisal cycle. It won't fix the appraisal inequities overnight, since the 10% cap means some assessed values will take years to catch up. But consistent annual reviews are how TAD moves toward equal and uniform appraisals, backed by reliable data and technology.

How do you plan to address these issues?

I want to not only make TAD more transparent and accountable to taxpayers, but I want to help them understand the reasoning behind their valuation (which TAD is responsible for) and who is ultimately responsible for their tax bill (their local officials).

Fair appraisals, informed taxpayers, accountability.

What is your approach to reviewing the county's reappraisal plan?

Always thinking about the best interest of everyday taxpayers, especially the families who are struggling to make ends meet.

Why are you running for office?

I am running to bring fairness, transparency, accountability and fiscal responsibility to TAD. With my background in public administration, government, auditing and education, I want to strengthen public confidence and ensure the appraisal system treats Tarrant County property owners fairly and consistently.

What are the biggest challenges facing the Tarrant Appraisal District?

The biggest challenges are maintaining public confidence, ensuring fair and uniform appraisals, strengthening transparency, protecting data and cybersecurity and exercising responsible fiscal oversight. TAD must balance accurate, legally defensible appraisals with efficient operations and quality taxpayer service.

How do you plan to address these issues?

I will use the board’s oversight authority to require measurable performance standards, transparent reporting, strong internal controls and fiscal accountability. I will support appropriate investments in technology, cybersecurity, employee training and data quality while respecting the Chief Appraiser’s statutory responsibility for administering appraisals.

My priorities will be fair and defensible appraisals, fiscal responsibility, transparency and accountability. I will emphasize consistent appraisal methodology, credible market evidence, strong quality controls, responsible budgeting and improved taxpayer service while ensuring the board remains focused on governance rather than individual property valuations.

What is your approach to reviewing the county's reappraisal plan?

I will review the reappraisal plan based on objective evidence: accuracy, uniformity, market data, protest results, taxpayer impacts and compliance with Texas law. I support the current two-year residential approach while evaluating its effectiveness and whether it provides taxpayers greater stability without compromising legally required appraisal accuracy.
