COVID-19 case count data from Aug. 7-9 shows some higher case counts for Brazoria County but an overall drop in numbers since mid-July. On Aug. 7, the county reported 137 new confirmed cases; on Aug. 8, the county reported 124 new confirmed cases; and on Aug. 9, the county reported 96 new confirmed cases. The county reported 79 recoveries Aug. 7 and 38 recoveries Aug. 8. The county reported three deaths Aug. 9.
While the majority of the cases in the county are in Pearland, the city only reported more cases than any other city in the county Aug. 7. On Aug. 8, Clute reported 32 cases, more than any other city in the county. On Aug. 9, Alvin reported 24 cases, more than any other city in the county.
The majority of the cases in the county are individuals in the 20-29 age bracket, which reported more cases than any other bracket Aug. 7 and 9. The 50-59 age bracket reported the most cases Aug. 8.
