Pearland Parkway traffic improvements and traffic circle construction have been delayed as the city is working with the University of Houston-Clear Lake on its road connectivity to Pearland Parkway, which led to some changes in design. The construction on the traffic improvements and traffic circle was originally scheduled to take place in December and January, then May and June, and is now scheduled to go to bid in October.

The project will replace the roundabout on Pearland Parkway with a traffic circle. A traffic circle is deemed safer than a roundabout because it has more lanes and often stop signs or traffic lights. The project was funded by the 2019 bond, and construction is expected to cost $2.2 million.

The bond also funded the Pearland Parkway traffic improvements. Construction is expected to cost $858,900. The improvements include a traffic signal at the Pearland Parkway and Forest Park Lane intersection, along with pedestrian ramps and crosswalks across Pearland Parkway.
