Work crews are putting the finishing touches on a neighborhood road in Richardson, according to the latest project update.

According to the project’s engineer, Gustave Michaud, construction on West Prairie Creek Drive is expected to wrap up around mid-May.

Two-minute impact

Construction on the $7.4 million project is funded through Richardson’s 2015 bond. Delays due to additional work discovered during construction have impacted the project, which was planned to be completed in February.

Improvements along West Prairie Creek Drive include new water infrastructure, additional crosswalks and a street overlay. According to the project webpage, construction is substantially complete with only a small amount of work remaining.

The final elements of construction include striping of the new roadway and crosswalks, Michaud said.
