Upcoming projects
Project: Silverado Trail’s westbound lanes will be constructed between Kenley Drive and Burnett Drive in McKinney, including a bridge over Rowlett Creek. The project includes relocation of an existing North Texas Municipal Water District sanitary sewer line.
Update: Design is 90% complete. The project is expected to bid in early 2027.
Timeline: spring 2027–spring 2028
Cost: $5.7 million
Funding source: city of McKinney
Project: Work will feature a full concrete reconstruction of Greenville Avenue in Richardson from Centennial Boulevard to Huffhines Street. Also included will be sewer and water main improvements.
Update: Design for the project is around 60% complete, according to the city’s capital project tracker.
Timeline: fall 2027-spring 2029
Cost: $13.9 million

Ongoing projects
Project: First Street in Prosper is being expanded from two lanes to a four-lane divided roadway between Dallas North Tollway and Coleman Street. The project includes drainage, curbs and a water line.
Update: The water line has been installed, and utility relocations are underway. A temporary detour lane has been installed at the railroad crossing.
Timeline: spring 2026-fall 2027
Cost: $26.15 million
Funding source: town of Prosper
Project: There will be dual left-turn lanes, dedicated right-turn lanes, new traffic signals, Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant ramps and pavement markings added at the intersection. The project is located in Council District 4 in Fort Worth.
Update: The project started on Aug. 24 and construction is scheduled Monday through Friday, according to a social media post shared by Council Member Charlie Lauersdorf.
Timeline: Aug. 24, 2026 to October 2027
Cost: $4.5 million
Funding source: city of Fort Worth
Project: The project spans 4.8 miles from North Texas Boulevard to US 77 north of Denton. It will reconstruct the interchange and existing frontage roads while widening the corridor to a six- to eight-lane rural freeway with ramp modifications, according to a Texas Department of Transportation report. The work includes a new direct connector from northbound I-35E to southbound I-35W, a braided ramp structure near US 380 and a flyover exit ramp bridge from northbound I-35W to Oak Street.
Update: As of late September, crews are working on the bridge and paving for the northbound I-35W exit ramp to Oak Street, along with grading and paving on the northbound and southbound frontage roads, TxDOT Public Information Officer Tila Grant said in an email. Mainlane earthwork and paving are also underway in both directions.
