Sky Cinemas Dripping Springs has permanently closed after 2 years in business at the Belterra Village shopping center. According to a May 18 announcement made through Sky Cinemas' website and social media channels, the closure comes as a direct result of loss of revenue due to COVID-19. Located in at 166 Hargraves St., Ste. A100, Sky Cinemas initially closed March 18 when Hays County first announced a shelter-in-place order restricting business.

"We had eagerly looked forward to the day when we could safely re-open Sky Cinemas. Sadly, that day will not come. With our business closed due to COVID and no revenue coming in, we were unable to pay our rent. We attempted to reach an arrangement with our landlord that would allow us to stay, but we failed to do so, and our lease was terminated," the announcement read.

According to Sky Cinemas, the property's landlord is now seeking a replacement cinema for the location.

"We hope that the new operator will build upon what we started and will continue to deliver to Dripping Springs the level of cinema experience it deserves," the announcement read.
