A reported 58 new coronavirus cases in Travis County brought the total in the county to 2,595 on May 19. With 81 reported deaths in the county and 915 recoveries, there are an estimated 1,599 active cases.

According to Austin Public Health, the city is currently tracking coronavirus clusters—a location with at least three cases—at 17 long-term care facilities, including 10 in Southwest Austin, six in Northwest Austin and one in Southeast Austin. In addition, Austin is monitoring 25 other possible clusters at local businesses or construction sites where positive reports have been noted.

Since May 4, the total number of coronavirus patients actively hospitalized in facilities in metropolitan area has fluctuated between 85 and 98 people, with 90 such cases in hospitals currently.
