More than 20% of registered Travis County voters cast ballots in the Nov. 2 election.

The Travis County Clerk's office reported that 183,184 voters participated across early voting and Election Day.

While fewer individuals voted than in the past several elections, turnout was actually higher than recent constitutional elections—the elections between the mid-term and presidential elections.

Earlier in the day, Travis County Clerk Dana Debeauvoir said she expected about 20% turnout, given the contentiousness of Proposition A, a measure that would have mandated certain staffing levels for Austin Police Department.

Proposition A failed with 68.18% of Austin voters rejecting the measure, as of 11:19 p.m. Nov. 2. Austin's other initiative, Proposition B, a proposed parkland deal, passed with 72.73%.
