The San Antonio Planning Department will hold an open house from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on June 7 at Coker United Methodist Church, 231 E. North Loop Road, for the Greater Airport Area Regional Center Plan.

According to a news release, the Greater Airport Area Regional Center Plan, launched earlier this year, is being developed to implement the city’s long-range SA Tomorrow comprehensive plan.

Throughout this community-based planning process, the city will organize numerous engagement activities and participate in public events where residents may share their vision for the area.

The release said the plan will forward recommendations and strategies for use by city departments, partner agencies, private entities and community partners to further improve neighborhoods surrounding the San Antonio International Airport.

City officials said people attending the open house-style public meeting will be asked to share their feedback for the airport area, a long-term community vision, and receive general information about the SA Tomorrow comprehensive plan and the overall sub-area planning process.

“We invite all greater airport-area community members, business owners and interested stakeholders to participate in the open house as we kick off the planning process for this community. We are looking forward to engaging conversations and continued collaboration with the greater airport community throughout this process.” City Planning Department Director Bridgett White said.

City officials said opportunities are available to provide comment before, during or after the open house through the plan website, social media, surveys, email and future meeting opportunities. Visit this link for details.
