Two segments of Loop 1604 in north San Antonio will be completely closed nightly April 22-27 because of continuing road work resulting from the freeway expansion project.

The background

Texas Department of Transportation officials said there are two major closures scheduled each evening this week:
  • Northwest Military Highway intersection at Loop 1604 will be closed in both directions from 9 p.m.-5 a.m. daily. This closure, attributed to construction crews setting beams for widening the overpass bridge, will include the turnarounds at the intersection.
  • The westbound main lanes from the Blanco Road exit ramp to the I-10 interchange, and the Lockhill Selma Road intersection at Loop 1604 will be closed from 9 p.m.-5 a.m. daily.
TxDOT representatives said these closures will allow the project contractor to do striping as well as to set barriers, overhangs and deck panels for the new I-10 direct interchange.
