Conroe City Council names downtown Arts District, applies for state grant
The city of Conroe has approved a plan to designate a part of downtown as the “Conroe Arts District.” According to the Texas Commission on the Arts, which makes decisions on cultural districts, some potential uses of the district include attracting artists, preserving historic buildings and establishing tourism destinations.
