Katy residents who made it out to the polls Saturday elected several new faces to the Katy City Council as well as two new candidates to the Katy ISD board of trustees. Local election results

  1. City of Katy: Katy voters supported a $19.5 million bond package that will provide flood mitigation and sewer upgrades throughout the city. Voters elected Janet Corte to Ward A, Durran Dowdle to Ward B and Chris Harris to the At Large position. Find a full recap on the three propositions here and the Katy City Council results here.


2. Katy ISD: Voters elected Susan Gesoff and Dawn Champagne Saturday night to fill seats 6 and 7, respectively, on the KISD board of trustees, according district results. Find a full recap on the results here.

City and county

3. Fort Bend County: Fort Bend County Commissioners will meet for a regularly scheduled meeting at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 8 at the courthouse in downtown Richmond. Items on the agenda include approving a memorandum for the county to participate in a Human Trafficking Rescue Alliance Task Force and taking action on a resolution to advance funding for the reimbursement of Hurricane Harvey Recovery related expenditures. 601 Jackson St., Richmond. https://www.fortbendcountytx.gov/

4. City of Katy: The city of Katy Planning and Zoning Commission will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 8 at Katy City Hall. 901 Avenue C, Katy. http://cityofkaty.com/
