The details
Those in Clear Lake will be able to cast ballots for several Houston City Council elections this year. They include:
- Houston mayor
- Houston City Council District E member
- Houston City Council At-Large Position 1
- Houston City Council At-Large Position 2
- Houston City Council At-Large Position 3
- Houston City Council At-Large Position 4
- Houston City Council At-Large Position 5
Also of note
Those living in Clear Creek ISD will also have three ballot items to consider:Proposition A is a voter-approval tax rate election, or VATRE, that would result in a tax rate of $0.9746 per $100 valuation to close a budget shortfall. If the VATRE fails, the tax rate would be $0.9446 per $100 valuation.
Propositions B and C are for $302 million worth of bonds for various projects around the district.
Additionally, Seabrook voters will be able to cast ballots for three propositions for a total of $32.1 million worth of bonds to fund a new Public Safety Building, renovations to the Seabrook Fire Station and buying a new fire engine.
A closer look
Early voting in Galveston County is open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at a number of locations Oct. 23-28 and Oct. 30-Nov. 1. Additionally, early voting runs from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Nov. 2-3.
Voting locations in and around League City include:
- North County Annex, 174 Calder Road, League City
- Education Support Center, 2425 E. Main St., League City
- Hometown Hero’s Park, 1001 E. League City Parkway, League City
- Kemah Community Center, 800 Harris Ave., Kemah
In Harris County, there are two voting locations near the Clear Lake area. Those are:
- Freeman Branch Library, 16616 Diana Lane, Houston
- University of Houston-Clear Lake Bayou Building, 2700 Bay Area Blvd., Houston
- San Jacinto College South Campus Jones Technical Building, 13735 Beamer Road, Houston
However, Seabrook voters can vote at Seabrook City Hall, 1700 First St., Seabrook, from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Nov. 7.
Looking ahead
Election day is Nov. 7, with polls being open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m., according to the Vote Texas website.
