Todd Gautier was appointed to fill the vacant council spot for the town of Westlake.

Council voted on the appointment during the closed session portion on the June 3 meeting.

He replaces Tim Shiner, who resigned on May 16. The spot is a dual position with a city council seat and a board of trustee member for Westlake Academy.

The background

According to his LinkedIn page, Gautier is retired. He was the president of the aviation system segment of L3Harris Technologies, which has an office in Plano. Gautier was also a fighter pilot in the United States Navy from 1986-2000.


What else?

Before the council vote, Loi Lin spoke during the public comment portion of the meeting. She expressed her interest in the position. She ran during the May primary and was eight votes away from winning the second of two open council spots.

Lin is an attorney and said she works closely with probate and real estate law and would be an asset to the council.
