The Pokeworks in Southlake recently celebrated its 5-year anniversary.
Owners Chuck Lo and Jean Xue started the business because their daughter was an athlete who enjoyed the healthy food but couldn’t find many restaurants in the area offering it.
Poke is a traditionally Hawaiian dish of diced raw fish like tuna or salmon mixed with rice and various vegetables and sauces. Pokeworks also offers hot and cooked dishes containing chicken or shrimp and an option to have the pieces of raw fish torched.
The Southlake store has been continuously growing over the years and regularly ranks in the top 10 locations nationwide, Xue said. Pokeworks has over 70 locations in the United States.
