Frisco Northwest Community Park to open Sept. 19
Frisco’s Northwest Community Park will open Sept. 19. Construction on the 122-acre park began in January 2025. Located along Teel Parkway near the PGA of America headquarters, the park is set to open nearly three months after its original June 2026 opening target.

Keller Planning & Zoning Commission approves Kroger Marketplace, mixed-use development
Kroger's plans to relocate to a new spot cleared a hurdle when the Keller Planning & Zoning Commission voted to approve a specific use permit for a Kroger Marketplace with a gas station at its Sept. 8 meeting. A proposal for a mixed-use development called Samantha Springs Commerce, which would have 31 brownstone homes, had a future land use plan approved, but the planned development failed at the same meeting.

BreadHaus offers scratch-made sourdough, sweets in Frisco
BreadHaus has opened its new location in Frisco. The family-owned business opened its Grapevine location in 1996, rebranding to BreadHaus in 2000. The business offers artisan baked goods like sourdoughs, cookies, bars and pretzels free of commercial yeast, preservatives and artificial additives.

Celina adds 578 acres to city limits for new developments, planned elementary school
The city of Celina got 578 acres bigger in August. Celina City Council approved voluntary land annexations for three projects totaling 578 acres at an Aug. 11 meeting, including 10 acres for Celina ISD Elementary School No. 8, 40 acres for a residential development and 528 acres for a mixed-use development.

Project Tomahawk developer scraps plans for Prosper data center
Plans for Project Tomahawk, a proposed data center in Prosper, have come to an end. Project Tomahawk was scheduled to go before Prosper Town Council on Sept. 8, but the developer, White Rose Partners, chose to withdraw Project Tomahawk from consideration, according to a town news release.

Frisco Atmos customers to see higher gas bills in October
Frisco residents who receive natural gas service from Atmos Energy could see their bills increase starting in October. During a Sept. 1 meeting, the Frisco City Council voted to adopt a negotiated settlement that will allow Atmos Energy to raise customer rates starting Oct. 1.
