Hays CISD announced May 12 that it will be rescheduling and moving previous graduation plans.

The district will now be doing hybrid high school graduation ceremonies at Bob Shelton Stadium that include limited in-person access.

Previously, the district had planned in-person graduations for the second week of August at Texas State University, but the university canceled those ceremonies due to coronavirus concerns.

Under the new graduation plans, each family will be allowed two in-person tickets to watch their graduate’s ceremony, and other guests will be able to watch the ceremony live online, according to a statement from Tim Savoy, a spokesperson for the district.

Specific details about safety measures during the limited in-person ceremonies at Shelton Stadium are forthcoming.

Here are the new dates for the graduation ceremonies:

  • Live Oak Academy High School—June 25, 10 a.m.
  • Hays High School—June 25, 8 p.m.
  • Lehman High School—June 26, 8 p.m.
