Austin-Bergstrom International Airport experienced 165% growth in passenger traffic from January 2021 to January 2022.

Over one million passengers flew to or from the airport this January, according to a March 15 press release from the city of Austin.

Southwest Airlines travelers made up the bulk of those flyers, with 405,525 passengers passing through ABIA in January—a nearly 200% increase from January 2021. Other high traffic airlines included Delta Air Lines with 120,049 passengers, up 121% from January 2021, and United Airlines with 111,544 passengers, a nearly 70% increase from January 2021.

The release also revealed that January air cargo at ABIA totaled 23.8 million lbs., a roughly 20% increase from the same month last year. International air cargo increased 980.61% for a total of 282,883 lbs.
