Zucchini Kill, an Austin bakery with locations in North Loop and Hyde Park, was founded by two best friends and bandmates on a mission to start a revolution, “dessert-style.”
CeCe Moon and Jessica Freda started out five years ago selling baked goods at pop-up events, eventually settling in their first brick-and-mortar location in North Loop. The business owners developed their own vegan and gluten-free recipes for cupcakes and various other pastries, experimenting with nontraditional flowers and egg replacements to get the balance of ingredients just right.
Now, Moon and Freda have expanded to a second location on the property of the old Spiderhouse Cafè, a space Moon says brings out their punk-rock roots.
