Cedar Park City Council requests review of police department’s policies and procedures Cedar Park City Council members requested a review of police policies and procedures at a meeting Thursday, after several residents spoke to request the firing of a police sergeant and the department’s police chief. Residents said the police chief and sergeant did not properly investigate an aggravated sex abuse court case in 2014. Read more here. 3. Leander ISD seeking community members for School Health Advisory Council LISD’s School Health Advisory Council guides the school district in addressing topics, such as physical activity and wellness. Cities of Cedar Park, Leander dispute selected LCRA Leander-Round Rock transmission line route After the Public Utility Commission of Texas voted in favor of a Lower Colorado River Authority’s transmission line route from Leander to Round Rock in May, the cities of Leander and Cedar Park have since taken action to protest the decision. After their rehearing requests were denied by the PUCT, Cedar Park plans to file again. Catch up on the story here. 5. WORTH THE TRIP: Literary Libations Week celebrates books with literary-themed cocktails Bars across Texas participate in Literary Libations Week, hosted by the Texas Book Festival.
