1. Main Street improvements
The city of Buda is planning improvements to portions of Main Street between Cabela’s Drive and Railroad Street. The work will include widening of the Bradfield Drive intersection with Main and extension of the five-lane section of Main west of Santa Cruz Catholic Church as well as signal modifications, extension of the sidewalk along Main, and pavement overlay and restriping.

2. Aquarena Springs Drive overpass
The city of San Marcos is partnering with the Texas Department of Transportation to construct an overpass over the Union Pacific Corp. railroad tracks that cross Aquarena Springs Drive in San Marcos. When completed, the $20.7 million overpass will feature two travel lanes in each direction as well as access roads—or “Bobcat lanes”—on both sides of the overpass. On Feb. 15 traffic on the road was rerouted to go through the new railroad crossing and signalized intersection at Post Road. The detour will allow for construction to begin on the overpass.

3. Hwy. 123 overpass
TxDOT is constructing an overpass on Hwy. 123 over the intersection with Wonder World Drive in San Marcos. Remaining work on the $11.6 million project includes addition of a concrete traffic rail on the side of the bridge as well as final paving. TxDOT spokesperson Kelli Reyna said the department hopes to have a ribbon cutting for the project in the spring.

4. Bunton Creek Road improvements
Construction on Bunton Creek Road began Sept. 23. The city of Kyle plans to reconstruct the one-mile portion of Bunton Creek from I-35 to Lehman Road using $3.8 million of voter-approved bond funds.
Timeline: September 2016-September 2017
5. Goforth Road improvements
Work on Goforth Road, which will be expanded to include two to three lanes in areas between I-35 and Bunton Creek Road, began in April. The contractor expects the $6.6 million project to be complete by late May.
