San Marcos High School principal resigns
Kelli Lopez, San Marcos High School principal, resigned Sept. 28 after it was discovered she had been changing students’ grades. Superintendent Michael Cardona said the changes had been made during the 2014-15 and 2015-16 school years. Of the 80-100 grades Lopez changed, most were in the upper-60s and were changed to 70s to allow students to receive passing grades in their courses.

Here’s what you need to know about Hays County’s two November bond propositions
Registered voters in Hays County decided whether to approve a combined $237.8 million in bond propositions when they go to the polls for the Nov. 8 election. Proposition 1 included $106.4 million for improvements to the county’s law-enforcement facilities. Proposition 2 included $131.4 million and would address transportation projects throughout the county.

Second clown spotted in San Marcos with chainsaw; school districts look into possible clown threats
According to an email sent out to residents Oct. 5, management at Sanctuary Lofts, 350 N. St., San Marcos, received reports of a person dressed as a clown holding what appeared to be a chainsaw on apartment property just after 9 p.m. Oct. 4.

Amazon opens San Marcos fulfillment center
Amazon’s new San Marcos fulfillment center opened the week of Aug. 26 at 1401 E. McCarty Lane, San Marcos. The center is the sixth of its kind in Texas.
