Austin City Council members in districts 6 and 10 are hosting town hall meetings March 21 and 28 to discuss a variety of topics, such as transportation and parks.

District 10

Councilwoman Sheri Gallo’s event is March 21 from 1–3 p.m. at the Austin Board of Realtors building at 4800 Spicewood Springs Road. The meeting will focus on neighborhood parks and working with city departments and other organizations to address issues and needs. Representatives from the Parks and Recreation and Public Works departments will be attending to answer questions regarding renovating neighborhood parks, adding a pool or restroom, hosting an event and requesting a neighborhood park among other topics. District 6

Councilman Don Zimmerman will host his monthly town hall meeting March 28 from 1:30–3 p.m. at the Garage at Gateway Church, 7104 McNeil Drive. Topics will include City Council committees, transportation—including the 2012 transportation bonds—wildfire mitigation, city operations and the Zucker Working Report, a report analyzing the Planning and Development Review Department. Senate Bill 1719 is also included in topics of discussion to allow local government, such as council members and county commissioners, to have the opportunity to support or oppose proposed subsidized housing developments as part of the application process for housing tax credits. Kelly Simon, who works in the Austin office of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, will discuss urban deer, coyotes and other wildlife concerns.
