It's that time of year when we spring forward—the weather starts to warm, and we become more energetic even though we also lose an hour of sleep. I guess that's the downside of springing forward.
We hope you enjoyed the first of our By the Numbers series on Page 22 in the February issue focusing on the city of Southlake. It's not surprising families continue to migrate to Southlake, with its top-notch schools, great shopping and quality of living.
This month our focus turns to Colleyville. Reporter Renee Hansen's front-page story reports on the city's update of its comprehensive plan and the value of residents' feedback during the year-long project. Be sure to check out the By the Numbers graphic for Colleyville on Page 20 and look for By the Numbers pages for
Grapevine and Westlake in the coming months.
The city of Grapevine is no stranger to development and redevelopment. Just recently city officials broke ground on the renovations of its community activity center. Reporter Jason Cook explores the scale and scope of this project beginning with his story on Page 1 and continuing on to Page 22 to share a few renderings of the improvements.
You will find our Spring Gardening Guide on pages 16 and 17, and it should be very helpful as you think about planting your spring blooms or growing a garden.
Of course with growth and development there can be downsides; however it looks as if our cities are hearing what residents want and are springing into action with plans for the present and the future.
