The initiative to bring a learning garden is moving toward completion. Remaining work on the garden will be completed by volunteers and includes construction of some garden beds and setting the border of the garden.

The business offers hair removal services for the face and other body parts using a sugaring paste, made with organic sugar, lemon and water.

6. ILS Gummies
Construction is underway to expand the business’s factory into existing warehouse space, according to a filing with Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The business produces multivitamin gummies as well as gummies to aid in sleep, detox and energy.
7. Huffines Kia McKinney
An expansion project is planned to add about 10,000-square-feet and nearly 100 parking spaces to Huffines Kia McKinney. McKinney City Council members approved a request for a specific use permit for the project at a Dec. 17 meeting.
Relocations
8. McKinney City Hall
Various city staff and departments relocated to the new 175,000-square-foot city hall. A grand opening event for the new facility is expected to be held in the spring.

9. 380 Towne Crossing
The roughly 137,000-square-foot shopping center anchored by Super Target and Lowe’s Home Improvement has been acquired by Dallas-based Younger Partners Investments.
10. Kitchen Tune-Up of McKinney
Juan and Mila Crespi took over the franchise ownership of Kitchen Tune-Up of McKinney in December. The business specializes in transforming and customizing kitchens.

11. Kim Guthrie Art
Kim Guthrie Art Gallery and Studio has closed in downtown McKinney, but owner and namesake Kim Guthrie plans to continue her business and involvement in the local art community. She now makes art and completes custom art commissions at her home studio in the historic district.
12. Savor Patisserie
The shop sold a variety of French macarons and meringues. The business will continue to offer macarons and meringues through online ordering, as well as in the frozen section at H-E-B stores.
