Jennifer Gray has officially begun her role as the Place 6 trustee on the McKinney ISD Board of Trustees.
Gray took an oath of office and joined the McKinney ISD school board at a Sept. 14 meeting. The board also recognized outgoing trustee Stephanie O’Dell for her 12 years of service.
The specifics
Gray will hold the position until May 2027, when O’Dell’s term was set to expire. She has been a McKinney resident since 1995 and has been involved with MISD as a parent, volunteer and staff member, according to a district news release.
“Jennifer has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to McKinney ISD and to public education through years of service to our schools and community,” board president Amy Dankel said in a district news release. “Her experience as an MISD parent, volunteer, committee member and employee gives her a valuable perspective on the work of the district. We appreciate her willingness to serve McKinney ISD in this important role.”

District officials also recognized O’Dell for her service to McKinney ISD.
“For 12 years, Stephanie O’Dell faithfully served the students, staff and families in McKinney ISD with unwavering dedication and a servant’s heart,” Superintendent Shawn Pratt said. “Throughout her tenure on the board of trustees, she consistently put the needs of students first, always striving to ensure that every decision reflected what was best for children and employees who make our district exceptional.”
What’s next
In addition to electing a new Place 6 trustee, MISD voters will elect trustees for Places 4 and 5, as Dankel’s and trustee Lynn Sperry’s terms are also expiring next May, the district’s website states.
