5. Costco
The wholesale store near McKinney’s southern border will offer its members grocery products, pharmacy products and automotive services.
The business, which provides home, kitchen and bathroom remodeling services as well as flooring, fencing, roofing, painting and deck construction, is opening a new office in McKinney.
The pizza chain serves a variety of classic and specialty pizzas as well as wings, sides, salads and sandwiches.
A four-story, 12,000 square-foot office building is near completion, and a project representative said some leasable space remains.
What’s next
Construction on the beer, wine and liquor store is set to start in December and be complete in December 2026, according to a filing with Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
Relocations
The custom perfume studio relocated from a space inside the McKinney Flour Mill to a storefront in downtown McKinney.
Expansions
11. Church of God, a Worldwide Association
A new education center being constructed at the church will feature an auditorium and seating for 500 people.
12. Encore Wire
Representatives of Encore Wire celebrated the groundbreaking of an over 650,000-square-foot expansion project at a June 18 event. The new state-of-the-art facility will enable the production of medium voltage cables and add 120 new jobs.

Hospital officials announced appointments to two executive roles July 1, including that Dr. Bret Burton stepped into the role of chief medical officer and Kevin Inderhees was appointed as the chief nursing officer.
14. Sunrise Center
The retail center, purchased by Precision Investments in December, will be renovated and rebranded as 380 Marketplace.
Closings
15. Homeology
The decor showroom is closing but the business will continue offering interior design services.
16. Kroger
An exact closing date has not been announced, but staff at the grocery store said the location is expected to close by the end of the summer. The closure is a part of a roughly 60-store closure the company announced earlier this year.
17. Love UR Bed
The mattress store, which sells a variety of brands of mattresses and box springs, is offering various discounts prior to its closure.
