Interfaith of The Woodlands recently celebrated its 50th anniversary serving south Montgomery County at its Celebration of Excellence gala along with recognizing its 25th annual Hometown Heroes awardees.

The overview

The gala, held April 20 at the The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center and presented by Woodforest National Bank, raised nearly $660,000 for the nonprofit, according to a news release.

These funds will be used to assist individuals and families with aid such as food; shelter; clothing vouchers; rent and mortgage assistance; utility assistance; gas cards; and job placements, according to the news release from Interfaith of The Woodlands.

The 2024 Hometown Heroes recipients included:Julie and Scott Lile acted as co-chairs for the event. Following the program, the celebration continued at an after-party with entertainment by The Spazmatics band. Proceeds from the evening will support the community programs of Interfaith of The Woodlands, according to the release.
