The nonprofit Furniture Bank Houston will commemorate 30 years of service to the Greater Houston area with a Nov. 4 event at its store in The Woodlands, featuring Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough. The free event will take place at 10 a.m,. and interested guests can RSVP

According to the organization
website, the Houston Furniture Bank has served 40,000 families, representing more than 120,000 individuals, in addition to recycling over 150,000 mattresses. The organization partners with over 45 social service groups in Houston.
In addition to Keough, the Nov. 4 event will feature a family speaking on aid they received from the bank’s Designing Interiors Volunteers At Your Service program, which targets families who have lost their personal possessions and are suffering from poverty, physical and mental health concerns, domestic violence or natural disasters.
The furniture bank accepts monetary donations directly through its
website as well as furniture drop-offs. Its two stores are located at 8220 Mosley Road, Houston, and at 295 Sawdust Road, The Woodlands. The Woodlands location opened in October 2020,
