Montgomery County commissioners are set to meet on Jan. 31 to officially move forward with planning for a 2025 road bond initiative.

Two-minute impact

During Commissioner's Court on Jan. 28, the court approved a workshop date to discuss projects for the proposed 2025 bond effort. Commissioners unanimously approved to meeting at 1 p.m. Jan. 31 to discuss what road and infrastructure projects should be included in the bond proposal before it is sent to voters, tentatively in May.

According to information from the Texas Secretary of State's office, the deadline to add a bond proposal to the ballot for May 3 is Feb. 14. However, Montgomery County Attorney B.D. Griffin said the county can not officially call for the bond election until the next court session on Feb. 11.

Precinct 2 Commissioner Charlie Riley announced during a meeting of The Woodlands Township board of directors on Jan. 22 that one of his projects would include the widening of Kuykendahl Road from FM 1488 to Research Forest Drive.
