Two new candidates have filed to run for election in November to claim an unfinished Klein ISD board of trustee position term, according to election filing information posted on the district’s website.

What we know
Dustin Creager and Jack Velasquez will face off for the remaining term of KISD trustee Position 3, which was filled by trustee Georgan Reitmeier after former trustee Chris Todd resigned in May, according to KISD’s website. The rest of the term for Position 3 runs through 2027.

Each member of the board of trustees is elected to an at-large position for three years in a nonpartisan election, according to the KISD website. The deadline for candidates to file for special elections is Sept. 3.

In case you missed it

KISD trustee Positions 6 and 7 will also be up for election in November, as previously reported.

Board President Rob Ellis and challenger Justin "Bumpy" Wooldridge both filed to run for KISD trustee Position 7 in November. Meanwhile, trustee Cathy M. Arellano is the only candidate who filed to run for Position 6.

What else?

Creager previously served on KISD's board of trustees, first elected in 2021, until he was unseated in November 2024 by trustee Denise Morrison. Velasquez ran against Ellis in November 2022, but was not elected.
