Officials with XSpace Group, a real estate and development company based in Texas, celebrated the beginning of wall construction Sept. 29 on the company's new commercial condominium development on Old Katy Road in Houston called XSpace Houston.
What is it?
XSpace Houston is a 4-story flexible space development spanning approximately 120,000 square feet.
According to an Oct. 6 news release, the building will offer customizable spaces for purchase or lease, ranging from private offices to luxury vehicle storage. Amenities are expected to include customizable units, a drive-up car elevator and a commercial rooftop lounge for owners.
Byron Smith, founder of XSpace Group, said the concept is designed to meet the growing demand for flexible, high-quality space in "one of Houston's most dynamic neighborhoods."
XSpace will be located inside the Houston Design District, a commercial and creative neighborhood in west Houston anchored by design companies, architecture firms and luxury showrooms, per the district's website.

Latest update
The project broke ground earlier this year. However, officials said that seeing the walls start to go up in September was a major milestone.
“We’re thrilled to see walls going up at XSpace Houston,” Smith said via news release. “It’s a milestone that reflects the momentum behind XSpace right now, from our newly announced joint venture with RAFA Racing Club to expand nationally, to the fact that Houston itself is already nearing 50% sold out. Seeing this project take shape is incredibly exciting, and it’s a preview of what’s ahead for XSpace as we continue to grow.”
Some details
XSpace Houston is designed by architect Francisco Gonzalez-Pulido of FGP Atelier. The Mexican architect's recent work includes the MPX Mexico City airport, the Shanghai Financial Exchange Plaza and the first Major League Baseball stadium in Mexico, according to his portfolio.
Additionally, construction is led by KDW, a Texas-based general contractor and the group's returning builder, which also completed XSpace Austin.

XSpace Houston is currently slated for completion in the first quarter of 2027, according to the project's website.
