Missouri City OKs $1.52M contract for first phase of Robinson Road reconstruction

Improvements will soon come to parts of Robinson Road in Missouri City.

At an Oct. 5 meeting, Missouri City City Council approved a $1.52 million construction contract with Houston-based ARS Construction LLC for the first phase of reconstruction on Robinson Road from El Dorado Boulevard to Golden Hills Lane. 

The project, which comes as the existing pavement has “reached its useful life,” will also replace water lines, Public Works Director Mustafa Albassam said. City staff prioritized the area in phase one because a city study showed it to be in the worst condition.

The first phase is funded with the city’s $85.85 million bond program approved by voters in November 2021. 

Also of note

Construction will be done in 500-foot sections on one side of the road, meaning about three driveways will be in the work zone at a time, Albassam said. However, residents will still be able to get into their driveways. 

Looking ahead

Phase one construction is expected to begin in November and end in the summer of 2027, Albassam said. 

The second and third phases do not have funding yet but are expected to begin in 2027.
