On April 27, Spring ISD’s Career and Technical Education Advisory Board celebrated 40 years since its founding, according to an April 28 news release from the district. The board supports the district’s CTE program—which is devoted to teaching students trade skills—with scholarships and fundraising efforts, according to SISD’s website.

About 85% of SISD students are involved with CTE programs, according to the news release.

SISD’s CTE board is composed of community members and was founded by district volunteer Donna Lewis, who is also the namesake of Lewis Elementary School. The board's president is Phylicia Hill. www.springisd.org/domain/1902
