Students in grades 5-12 could receive new personal school laptops if Pearland ISD's board of trustees approves the replacements at its Jan. 23 meeting.

After receiving 22 quotes from companies, such as Dell, HP and Lenovo, PISD administration is recommending awarding the contract to HP, according to district agenda documents.

The total quote that HP offered was $6.23 million, which could allow 13,800 students, or students in grades 5-12, to receive an HP Pro x360, according to the agenda documents.

HP will extend the quote pricing for additional devices through 2026.

The PISD board is also looking to provide a technology update to discuss the long-range technology replacement plan and life cycle projections of technology within PISD schools, according to the agenda documents.


The district’s board will also vote on the new academic calendar for the 2024-25 school year.
