1. Spring Cypress Road widening
Work continues on the Harris County project to add a fifth lane to Spring Cypress Road from I-45 to Lexington Boulevard. Contractor Angel Brothers Construction is ahead of schedule for the Sept. 27 deadline.

2. Aldine Westfield Road widening
Still in the bid phase, the project will expand Aldine Westfield Road from a two-lane asphalt roadway to a four-lane concrete thoroughfare from East Louetta Road to Riley Fuzzel Road. Harris County hopes to begin construction in September.

3. Gosling Road widening
Harris County has plans to widen Gosling Road from Spring Stuebner Road to Research Forest Drive to a four- or five-lane roadway. Segment 1, from Spring Stuebner Road to West Mossy Oaks Road, is in the final design phase. Originally planned for a bid in the second quarter of 2015, the county hopes to send the project out for bid in the third quarter of this year. Segment 2, from West Mossy Oaks Road to West Rayford Road, and Segment 3, from West Rayford Road to Research Forest Drive, are still in the study phase.

4. The Grand Parkway Segments F-1, F-2 and G
Construction continues on three simultaneous segments—F-1, F-2 and G—of Houston’s third inner loop. The segments stretch from Hwy. 290 to Hwy. 59 and feature major overpasses and interchanges at Hwy. 290, Hwy. 249 and I-45. Several lanes and ramps are closed for const-ruction. Closures for the summer include the I-45 northbound exit at Spring Crossing Drive and the Hardy Toll Road, the I-45 northbound frontage road left lane at Spring Stuebner Road, and the I-45 northbound right shoulder from the Spring Stuebner Road entrance ramp to exit No. 72. The Northgate Crossing Boulevard northbound and southbound lanes from Spring Stuebner Road to the Hardy Toll Road will be closed continuously through July 10. 5. Hardy Toll Road expansion
The Harris County Toll Road Authority has commenced work on expansion of the Hardy Toll Road. The project will add a third lane on the northbound and southbound lanes of the toll road from FM 1960 to the Grand Parkway and will include a direct connector to the Grand Parkway. The direct connector will add four single-lane connectors in each direction from northbound Hardy Toll Road to east and west lanes on the Grand Parkway and from east and westbound lanes on the Grand Parkway to the Hardy Toll Road. Construction has begun on the direct connector while work is expected to begin on the widening this summer.

6. Hufsmith-Kohrville and Holderrieth roads improvements
The Tomball Economic Development Corporation is finalizing the proposed traffic signal and intersection improvements at Hufsmith-Kohrville and Holderrieth roads. Harris County plans to send the project out for bid following the completion of the design.
