After recovering from turkey overload, it's time to get out and start celebrating the season. There is no reason to be bored in the Katy area this weekend. The city of Katy holds its tree lighting ceremony tonight, the Alamo Drafthouse Mason Park hosts a movie premiere Friday and holiday celebrations continue throughout the weekend. Official city of Katy tree lighting ceremony
The city of Katy presents its tree lighting ceremony tonight at Katy City Hall. The event includes live entertainment, hot cocoa and cookies as well as a chance to get pictures taken with Santa Claus. "A Bad Idea Gone Wrong" at the Alamo Drafthouse

Eighth annual Katy Old-Fashioned Christmas
The eighth annual festival takes place this weekend; it is hosted by Katy Market Days and No Label Brewing Co. Participants are encouraged to bring canned food donations for local food pantries. Vendors will be on hand selling food, crafts and local goods. Holiday Health and Safety Fair
The Dec. 2 event is hosted by Texas Foot & Ankle Specialists, Watsons BBQ, No Label Brewing Co. and Multiplicity. Family Flannel Fest
Head out to the Second Baptist Church-West Campus this weekend for services followed by a flannel festival.
