As the new year kicks off, there are several new businesses slated to open in 2025 in Fulshear and Katy, as reported by Community Impact. This list is not comprehensive.

1. Smart Kids University

A new kind of after-school program targeting gifted individuals is set to begin operations in Katy. The program aims to connect children with like-minded peers while building knowledge through class options including artificial intelligence, natural sciences and social sciences.2. P.F. Chang's China Bistro

The Asian-fusion restaurant will serve authentic Asian and Chinese cuisine, including sushi, Mongolian beef, pad Thai and dynamite shrimp, at Katy Mills Mall.3. Fogo de Chão

The Brazilian steakhouse will take the spot of the recently closed Harris County Smokehouse Katy location. The restaurant offers a full churrasco experience and boasts self-serve buffet stations.4. MEZZE#1


The Middle Eastern restaurant is set to open its second Houston-area location in Fulshear. The original location opened in November 2022 at 1205 Grand Central Parkway, Ste. 100, Conroe.5. Jaggers

Founded by Texas Roadhouse founder Kent Taylor, the fast-casual restaurant will offer burgers, chicken sandwiches and salads. The Katy location will be the company’s first Houston area location and second Texas location.6. Chewy Vet Care

The online pet retailer will expand its services by adding vet care offices across the nation, including one in Katy. The vet will offer routine appointments, urgent care, vaccinations, dental procedures and surgeries.7. Pickleball Katy

The business will bring 11 indoor pickleball courts to the community as the sport continues to rise in popularity. The facility will also feature a bar, as well as a gym.8. Skip’s Beer and Wine


The business offers a selection of wine, craft beer and liquor, as well as hosting wine tasting and events. A second location is set to come to Cross Creek Ranch in April 2026.9. Tsaocaa

The bubble tea franchise offers over 100 different drinks, as well as a limited food menu including Hong Kong egg waffles and Korean fried chicken. This will be the second Houston-area location, with the first located on Kirby Drive.10. Verlo Mattress

The business is set to open a factory specializing in custom-made, American material mattresses near Typhoon Texas. The midwest business has operated for more than 60 years.

11. Lumin Fitness

Residents will have a new way to workout in Cinco Ranch this year at Lumin Fitness, a boutique experience outfitted with artificial intelligence, augmented reality, gamification, motion tracking and personalized audio. The Katy location will be the first franchise location of the Irving-based business.12. Celebree School


The business is set to bring additional childcare services for infants, pre-school and school-aged children. The business offers before- and after-school care, and summer camps aimed at helping children develop social and development skills.
