Bridgeland, an 11,500-acre master-planned community in Cypress, is starting construction on its first medical office building for Memorial Hermann this summer, according to a March 18 news release.

The details

The 51,000-square-foot facility will be located at the southwest corner of Tuckerton Road and Fry Road. It will offer spaces designed to accommodate emergency services, primary care, pediatrics and sports medicine, according to the news release.

“Establishing medical facilities in Bridgeland marks a significant step forward in our commitment to fostering a fully integrated, cohesive community,” Jim Carman, president of the Houston region for developer Howard Hughes Holdings, said in the release. “Just like our development efforts in The Woodlands, the goal is to ensure that Bridgeland continues to grow in a way that enhances residents’ quality of life—and access to quality health care is a vital part of that experience.”

The impact

The Memorial Hermann facility is expected to help drive the development of approximately 1 million square feet of medical space within Bridgeland, according to the news release. Once completed, it will provide accessible care to Bridgeland's more than 25,000 current residents and eventually approximately 70,000 residents once Bridgeland is fully developed.

This development builds on several key milestones in Bridgeland, including Chevron’s 77-acre land acquisition, the grand opening of H-E-B Bridgeland, new retail stores and restaurants, and the addition of One Bridgeland Green, Greater Houston’s first mass timber office.
