The Conroe Art League has garnered submissions from across the nation for its fifth annual Madeley National gallery, according to a press release Jan. 16.
The nonprofit received approximately 700 pieces from 39 states to compete for $6,000 in cash prizes, according to the press release. The gallery will run March 5-28 with a meet-and-greet reception March 7 at 5-8 p.m. where the jurors will announce the prize winners.
“This year’s Madeley National brought extraordinary talent from all over the country. Our two jurors, Jennifer Perlow of PS Art Consulting and Karen Vernon of Karen Vernon Fine Art, had a large variety of mediums and styles from which to chose," show coordinator Ed Gorman said in the release. “We are expecting a great turnout at this year’s Reception and Awards Presentation. Last year 50 of the show’s 75 finalist attended the Artist Reception. We look forward to the March 7, 2020 public reception where we can all meet this year’s artists and to hear which pieces receive awards."
