Twisted Egg Shack, a fast-casual breakfast, brunch and lunch spot, opened in Katy this fall. Noteworthy menu items include the Don't Call Me Chicken sandwich, made with a chicken tender, scrambled egg, cheddar and a drizzle of honey on a croissant bun; and Twisted Tot-chos, a brunch bowl with sausage, jalapenos, scrambled eggs, queso and sriracha aioli piled on top of tater tots. The restaurant also serves over 15 flavors of mimosas, including pineapple passionfruit and hibiscus.

At Poke Hut, customers can create their own poke bowl. Poke bowls consist of a choice of rice and salad, a choice of protein, vegetables, sauce and toppings. Poke Hut signature menu items include the chicken teriyaki bowl, vegetarian bowl—known as Skinny Girl—and Hula Hawaii. Ramen noodle options are also available.

The upscale restaurant specializes in traditional Persian cuisine with Middle Eastern influences. Other offerings include a Persian-themed cocktail program with options such as the Sabzi Tonica, made with dragoncello and Mediterranean tonic, as well as the Maydan, made with Persian tea and saffron. Rumi's will also offer jeweled rice, a Persian dish made with butter and spices, named for its golden color. The eatery can seat 170 guests in its bar and dining areas. A private dining area can also hold up to 40 people.

Rosati’s Pizza is serving Chicago-style pizzas from its new Sugar Land location. The Chicago-based eatery offers various pizzas, including deep dish, thin crust and double dough as well as pastas, wings, salads, calzones and other Italian dishes, General Manager Craig Wallace said. The location sells beer and wine, and features two brews on tap from Missouri City-based Texas Leaguer Brewing Company. Customers can dine in or have their orders delivered from the third Houston-area location of Rosati’s Pizza.

Owner Tulio Aparicio opened Cutten Kitchen in North Houston. The restaurant—which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily—offers American fare with menu items ranging from breakfast tacos and buttermilk pancakes to chicken-fried steaks and bacon cheeseburgers. The restaurant also features a full bar and serves drinks, such as frozen margaritas, mimosas and bloody marys.
