Richardson’s Charles W. Eisemann Center announced its initial lineup for the 2022-23 Presenting Series season during a May 2 City Council meeting.

Scheduling the season is part of a long journey to “returning to normal” for the series, Executive Director Bruce MacPherson said.

During the 2019-20 season, the Eisemann Center scheduled 26 shows at a budget of $799,000 before having to cancel six of those due to the pandemic, he said. In addition, the Eisemann Center was forced to cancel all 16 shows that were previously negotiated for the 2020-21 season and was limited to seven shows for the 2021-22 season.

For the 2022-23 season, the center announced nine shows with a supporting budget of $327,000 and is negotiating to add two more shows to its lineup.

The first show of the 2022-23 season, which will start Oct. 8, is an appearance from the Paul Taylor Dance Company.

The Aluminum Show, which is called on its website “a unique visual theater experience,” is scheduled to perform in the Eisemann Center on Nov. 20.

Pianist Jeffrey Siegel will perform four concerts as part of his Keyboard Conversations series during the 2022-23 season. According to Siegel’s website, Keyboard Conversation offers a piano “concert with commentary” with each concert set to have a different theme. Siegel is scheduled to perform Oct. 17, Dec. 12, Feb. 20 and April 17 in the center’s Bank of America Theatre.

During the holiday season, five performances of “Christmas with C.S. Lewis,” a retelling of the traditional tale "A Christmas Carol," will be held at the Bank of America Theater.

Entering 2023, a Sam Cooke tribute concert is scheduled for Jan. 20 starring Bradd Marquis. The final event scheduled for the season is the return of The BritPack, a British Invasion-era tribute band scheduled to perform March 11 in the Hill Performance Hall.

Ahead the 2022-23 season, the Eisemann Center also plans to hold special events in honor of its upcoming 20th anniversary.
