TRE Cooking Concepts is scheduled to open the first week in March at 8200 Preston Road, Ste. 135, just south of SH 121 in Plano. A concept by renowned Dallas chef Tre Wilcox, the 3,200-square-foot venue will provide well-stocked demonstration kitchens and chefs tables for group dining.
The space was specifically designed to allow guests to immerse themselves in a network television studio kitchen, and will host corporate team building activities, cooking classes, couples cooking classes, chef demonstrations, and other special events, said Kenny Wynn, sales director for TRE Cooking Concepts.
“It is a totally customizable space for any type of event,” he said. “TRE Cooking Concepts venue is an ‘a la carte' space, so pricing is based on the type of event guest are having.”
Wilcox was the executive chef at Marquee Grill in Dallas before it closed and currently serves as the culinary director for Julia Pearl Southern Cuisine in Plano, which opened last month. Wilcox was twice nominated for the “Rising Star Chef “award by the James Beard Foundation and has appeared on Bravo Television’s
Top Chef season three and
Top Chef All-Stars. He also starred on Food Network’s
Iron Chef America, with mentor and local chef Kent Rathbun, where they beat the team headed by Bobby Flay.
"We've gotten a lot of positive feedback I think so far," Wynn said. "People [in Plano] are excited to be able to do things like this right here in their own neighborhood."
