Plano City Council approved a bid for the project to remove and replace approximately a quarter-mile of the trail during its Nov. 25 meeting. The trail replacement will cost $648,865 and Infra Construction LLC has been hired for the project.
The section of Willow Creek Trail from Roanoke Drive to P Avenue is 35 years old and “nearing the end of its usable lifespan,” according to city documents.
The project includes a portion of the trail that connects Willowcreek Park to Mendenhall Elementary School.
