Jon Franks was sworn in Oct. 20 as the first Grapevine resident to be elected to serve on the nine-member Board of Directors of the Fort Worth Transportation Authority otherwise known as the T.
"With Tex Rail becoming a reality, which will come to downtown Grapevine and then into DFW Airport, Grapevine having a seat on the "T" Board will be significant," Franks said.
The Board consists of nine members, eight of which are appointed by the Fort Worth City Council and one appointed by the Tarrant County Commissioners Court. Franks was appointed by the Tarrant County Commissioners Court. Board members will serve for the fiscal year 2015, which runs through Sept. 30.
Franks is an attorney/mediator with the Wynne Law Firm located at 128 E. Texas St., Ste. 100, Grapevine. He obtained degrees at Southwestern University in Georgetown and University of Texas School of Law in Austin. He has served on the Tarrant County Family Law Bar Association, Tarrant County Bar Association and was named Grapevine Chamber of Commerce Business Hall of Fame recipient in 2004. Franks was also a municipal judge for Irving and Southlake Texas.
