With all 59 voting centers reporting, unofficial election results from Collin County show Keresa Richardson and Frederick Frazier headed to a runoff election in May, as both are the lead vote-getters in the race, but neither received the majority of the votes.

Richardson received 7,235 votes, representing about 39.8% of votes cast. Frazier had 5,840 votes, or about 32% of the vote, unofficial election results show.

Chuck Branch received 5,126 votes, or just over 28% of the vote, unofficial results show.
Richardson and Fraizer will face each other in a runoff race on May 28. The winner will face Democratic candidate Tony Adams, who ran unopposed, according to the Texas Secretary of State's website. Results are unofficial until canvassed.

Keresa Richardson is holding the lead in the Republican primary election for the Texas House District 61 seat with 29 of 59 voting centers reporting, according to unofficial voting results from Collin County.

Richardson leads with 5,242 votes for the Republican candidacy in the November General Election for the Texas House District 61 race. Opponent Frederick Frazier follows with 4,358 votes. Opponent Chuck Branch has also received 3,912 votes.

Results from early voting for the Republican primary election for the Texas House District 61 seat show Keresa Richardson leading the race, according to numbers released by the Collin County Elections Administration. Results are unofficial until votes are canvassed by the county.


The specifics

Richardson leads with 38.15%, or 4,290 votes. Opponent Frederick Frazier follows with 32.31%, or 3,634 votes. Opponent Chuck Branch has also received 3,322 votes, representing 29.54% of votes cast.The winner will earn the Republican candidacy in the November General Election for the Texas House District 61 race.

Zooming out

The Texas House District 61 seat represents parts of McKinney, Frisco, Celina and Anna. Incumbent Frederick Frazier currently holds the seat after being elected in 2022.


The winning candidate will face uncontested Democratic candidate Tony Adams in the general election this November.
