Why are you running for office?

I am entering the race for mayor to be a true voice for the people of Lewisville. Our community deserves a leader who not only recognizes but actively addresses the pressing issues we face, particularly teen violence, which threatens our sense of safety and community cohesion.

What are the biggest challenges facing the city?

Crime, and specifically violent teen crime. Domestic violence. Quality-of-life issues.

How do you plan to address these issues?

I plan on developing teen mentorship, entrepreneurship and work programs to help redirect troubled teens. I want to provide more tools for law enforcement, the municipal judge  and prosecutor to handle domestic violence.

What would your top priorities be if you are elected?

Addressing teen violence, working to reduce domestic violence and violence against women, and managing the growth of warehouses in Lewisville

Tiffany Karim

Experience: Proud to serve. 41-year-old, U.S. Air Force veteran, wife, mother, accounting 14 years, aircraft mechanic six years

Occupation: Senior auditor

Why are you running for office?

As the mayor, I aim to thoroughly audit the budget to identify any unnecessary spending. My goal is to allocate more funds to the police department while also exploring innovative strategies to enhance Lewisville's appeal, thereby boosting sales tax revenue without raising property taxes.

What are the biggest challenges facing the city?

Balancing the need for crime reduction, green space preservation and business development is essential for creating a thriving environment. This requires strategic planning and community involvement to ensure the overall quality of life and economic prosperity of the city are maintained.

How do you plan to address these issues?

Increasing police presence deters crime and enhances public safety. Prioritizing community policing and crime prevention strategies is crucial. Building parks within a 10-minute walk improves residents' well-being and fosters community cohesion. Attracting new businesses is vital for economic growth, achieved through incentives, entrepreneurship support and infrastructure investment.

What would your top priorities be if you are elected?

Public safety: We're understaffed compared to similar cities. Allocating more to the police budget is essential for ensuring public safety. Enhancing Lewisville's appeal: Strategic growth initiatives like Vista Ridge and Lake Park are vital for generating increased revenue. Education system: Supporting LISD is crucial. Showcasing achievements will establish our district as an exemplary model.

Why are you running for office?

To continue building our tools to make housing more affordable, provide more child care resources, strengthen and make our transit system more useful and accessible, bring a TSTC Technical School to Lewisville for better job skills, and to continue our support of top-notch public safety

What are the biggest challenges facing the city?

Affordability and resource access for our families to be able to obtain better jobs, have more reliable transportation options, better child care options and additional resources for our first responders to ensure our crime rates continue their downward trend. These tools will strengthen our workforce and our businesses.

How do you plan to address these issues?

Working with the state, county and business leaders to establish a TSTC campus in Lewisville. I am collaborating with Workforce Solutions of North Central Texas for child care options. Serving on DCTA to improve Rail and GoZone tools for the city, continuing to review affordable housing tools and backyard cottages for residents.

What would your top priorities be if you are elected?

My key focus will be on getting as many tools as possible to keep Lewisville a great place to have a family and start a business. We continue to see increased investment, lower crime rates, and better parks and amenities.
