Dorman Street in Roanoke closed for construction March 31 and is expected to remain closed for no more than 120 days, according to a Facebook post from the city.

The details

The closure is from Byron Nelson Boulevard to Lois Street and detour signs have been placed near the closure to reroute traffic.

According to city documents, improvements include:
  • A concrete street
  • Curb and gutter drainage improvements
  • New sidewalks and street lighting

The construction contract was awarded to Quality Excavation for an amount not to exceed $1,360,099.


The project was chosen as a part of the Denton County bond, so 50% is reimbursable by the county, Community Impact previously reported.

Roanoke City Council approved the contract Feb. 11.
